Therapy

Clinical Psychology Bristol provides formulation driven evidence based therapy for the full range of psychological difficulties encountered across  the whole adult lifespan. The approach used by the service draws on a broad breadth of psychological research and theory and adheres to the provision of evidence based practice.

The service  provides predominantly Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) which is currently a treatment of choice recommended in a range of NICE guidelines for mental health disorders.

Dr Lisa Frankland is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist who is also accredited as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist. In addition to  protocol based CBT treatments, Lisa is skilled in the use of formulation driven psychological interventions for more complex issues. This work is informed by  DBT, Mindfulness practice and Compassion Focussed Therapy.  Lisa has completed level 4 EMDR training. These approaches are used in collaboration with a client where it is indicated that they may be of use.

Lisa specialises to the treatment of trauma, and is experienced in the treatment of distress related to women’s health at times of transition, such as Perinatal mental health care and late onset mood disorders at the time of perimenopause and menopause.
